Taint (about)

Diana, Mike, Bob and Kevin
are Caudal Peduncle.

Diana (vox keys), Mike (vox, bass) and Bob (guitar) met through working together at Seattle Aquarium. Although this is Diana’s very first band experience—Mike, Bob and Kevin (drums, vox) have each played music since they were young. Kevin and Mike have been playing and writing music together for years.

Diana “Cuttlefish” Cardiff
Vocals, Keyboard

Diana is a performer, choreographer and producer. She has created, produced, and performed in the original productions of the Buttrock Suites since its inception in 2003, which eventually led to co-creating the highly successful recurring holiday shows, Buttcracker I-V. Cardiff was a founding member of d9 Dance Collective and a member of Pat Graney Dance Company and Wade Madsen and Dancers. She has set work for Ian Bell’s Rebar Brown Derby Series, Teatro ZinZanni, Seattle Repertory Theater, Live Girls! Theatre, and more. In 2022, she co-produced Space 50, an all outer-space themed dance, music, and film concert. She is a member of the multi-disciplinary performance collective, Four On the Floor, who  produced and premiered GoodFor Her Age in Seattle (2023). The show explores what it is like to be a woman of a “certain age”. Diana is a member of the band Caudal Peduncle and is loving it! Her day job is Marine Science Interpreter at the Seattle Aquarium. She holds a BFA from Cornish College of the Arts.

Mike has also played and recorded with musicians from: Mudhoney, Love Battery, Ottoman Bigwigs, The Shins, Young Fresh Fellows, Jesse Sykes, Evangeline, Medicine Hat, Whiting Tennis, Tripwires, Stereo Embers, Walkabouts, C’mon C’mon, Transmissionary 6, and many others.

“Barracuda” Bob Fitzgerald
Guitar

Bob emerged from the grime and grit of the New York City’s lower east side and its underground art and music scene in the 1980’s. First gaining notoriety playing guitar in the lower east side’s legendary ROGON with bassist Liz Eller and drummer Andre Laredo. and later playing bass in UNDERNATION, signed with Enemy Records, Munich. Bob was a fixture in the local scene playing and recording with dozens of bands 

Without explanation Fitzgerald dropped out of sight. He was rumored to be residing in  south Florida and was spotted playing classical guitar in a mariachi cover band

Bob resurfaced on the west coast playing bass with the power trio THE SKY RAINED HEROES with Seattle musician Rhom Nevets.
